It's exactly what you'd expect from Sony, the company ''Defining the Digital Future.''(TM) The Dual Discrete optical pickup uses two lasers - one for DVD and one for CD. SmoothScan technology means clear, high speed searches, as well as slow motion or frame-by-frame playback in both forward and reverse. Plus, this player is DTS capable. Comes with standard and S-video A/V outputs and component video output.

· Variable Analog Audio low pass filter automatically provides the right cutoff frequency for low sampling frequencies (44.1 kHz/48 kHz) and high sampling frequency (96 kHz). Improves signal-to-noise ratio and distortion.
· Digital outputs for Dolby(R) Digital and DTS(R) products let you hear multi-channel digital sound from compatible DVD discs. Connects to outboard decoders, such as Sony TA-E9000ES Preamplifier, Sony STR-DA50ES, DA30ES and DE925 A/V Receivers.
· Glass epoxy circuit audio board is extremely resistant to heat and humidity. Sony refined the audio circuit by adopting lavish high-quality audio parts. Twin monaural topology maintains maximum stereo separation.
